The Islamic Center is owned and operated by the Islamic Community of Bryan/College Station (ICBCS). It was formally opened by Sheikh Abdullah Idris Ali, the then president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), on Friday, October 27, 1995. The center became operational on December 31st, 1995.
Only a few minutes walk from the Texas A&M University campus, the center is a two story structure with approximately 6,900 sq. ft. of climate-controlled area. It is made of solid cement blocks and metal frame.
Facilities
The Islamic Center includes:
- Separate prayer halls for men and women
- Office/conference rooms
- Library
- Nursery for infants and children
- Bathrooms and ‘wudu’ areas for men and women
- Guest room with an attached bath
- A small kitchenette
In addition to this, there are parking facilities all around the building.
