ICBCS congratulates all Muslims for the beginning of Dhul-hijjah, the best ten days in the sight of Allah. The Hajj Authority in Makkah determined that the first day of Dhul-Hijjah was Thursday December 21st, 2006. Based on that the day of Arafat will be on Friday December 29th, 2006 and Eid al-Adha will be on Saturday December 30th, 2006.

Eid prayers will take place on Saturday at 8:30 am at the Islamic Center insha’allah. Please carpool to conserve limited parking spaces as the masjid parking lot is likely to be closed off and used for serving refreshments. Please plan ahead and consider using either the parking lot in front of St Mary’s or the Northgate Parking Garage.

The community Eid picnic will start around 1 pm insha’allah and will continue until shortly before maghrib. The picnic will be held at Tiffany Park and will include activities for kids (moonwalk, cotton candy, etc). Food will be served at Asr time (round 3:30 pm).We hope to see everyone there insha’allah! Alhamduliallah the weather is expected to be pleasant, but in case that changes please do check back at this website for any cancellation notice.

The forecasts as of Sunday morning indicate a moderate chance of rain in the afternoon or late afternoon. The picnic WILL still go ahead insha’allah. The temperature will be in the mid 70’s and there is enough covered space in Tiffany Park in case it does rain for a while.
