The Day of Arafah is considered the most important day of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is a day when Allah frees more people from Hellfire than any other day of the year. (Sahih Muslim 1348)
What du’as did the Prophet ﷺ and his companions say on this day?

The Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ du’a on Arafah

“The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah, and the best thing that I and the prophets before me said is: ‘There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and all praise, and He is over all things competent.’”
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3585)

Q: How do pray salat al-Eid?

A: It is to be prayed as two rak’ahs before the sermon. Takbīr is made in the first rakah (after the opening supplication but before seeking refuge) six times. In the second rakah, it is made five times before recitation. The hands are raised with every takbīr while saying, “Allāh is ever Greatest. Much praise belongs to Allāh, Glory to Him morning and evening. May the prayer of Allāh and plentiful peace be upon Muhammad and his family” If desired, something else can be said.

There is no dhikr that should be mentioned after the final tabkīr of each of them. Then al-Fātihah is recited followed by al-Ala in the first rak’ah, and al-Ghāshiyah in the second. After the salām, two sermons are delivered, the rulings of which are like that of the Friday sermons, including the impermissibility of speaking during the sermon.

It is recommended to begin the first with nine continuous takbīrs and the second with seven; while standing. On the Fițr, those in attendance are encouraged to give charity and are told what to distribute. They should be encouraged on Adhā to slaughter a sacrificial animal, as well as taught its rulings. The extra takbirs, dhikr between them, and the sermons are recommended.

The Takbir at-Tashreeq is to be recited after the Fardh (obligatory) prayer of Fajr on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, which marks the  day of Arafah. From that point onwards, it should be recited after every Fardh prayer until the Asr prayer on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.

The Takbir al Tashreeq is commonly recited with the following wording:

Udhiyah/Qurbani is the tradition of sharing meat with your family and with those in need at the end of the Hajj season, or Eid al-Adha.

Udhiyah is an Arabic word and Qurbani is an Urdu/Persian word derived from Arabic. They both connote the meaning of sacrifice, or an act done for the pleasure of Allah (SWT). “Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).” (The Holy Qur’an, 108:2)

Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (RA) said:
“The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stayed in Madinah for 10 years, offering sacrifice (every year on Eid).” (Ahmad and Tirmidhi)

Al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib (RA) said the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Whoever offers a sacrifice after the prayer has completed his rituals (of Eid) and has followed the way of the Muslims.” (Al-Bukhari)

There are several organizations you can donate to regarding Udhiyah. To name a few:
